How much does hour building in Portugal cost?
From 120€/hour depending on aerodrome, including fuel, landing/nav fees, ferry and home-base parking. Use the calculator above for an estimate.
Why is Portugal good for hour building?
Around 300 sunny days a year mean far fewer weather cancellations than most of Northern Europe, so hours get flown on schedule.
Is time building the same as hour building?
Yes — "time building" and "hour building" mean the same thing: flying to reach the hours you need for a licence or rating. We use both terms.
What licence do I need?
A PPL with ICAO English — that's it. ASA operates both EASA and UK-registered Cessna 152s, so pilots from either system can fly.
Which aerodromes can I use?
Garrocheira, Cascais (LPCS), Coimbra (LPCO), Évora (LPEV), or another Portuguese aerodrome on request. After your adaptation flight, you can fly to wherever you'd like.
What's the adaptation flight?
Every pilot needs one before starting — it's an instructor flight, and it's included.
